Construction Act 1996 amendments in force in Scotland 1 November 2011

The Local Democracy, Economic Development and Construction Act 2009 (Commencement No. 2) (Scotland) Order 2011 (SI 2011/291) confirms the effective date in Scotland for changes to Part II of the Housing Grants, Construction and Regeneration Act 1996 (Construction Act 1996) under Part 8 of the Local Democracy, Economic Development and Construction Act 2009 (LDEDC Act 2009) will be 1 November 2011. This will be one month after the changes take effect in England. (Free access.)
The changes to the law governing payment and adjudication under construction contracts in Scotland will come into force on 1 November 2011.
The Local Democracy, Economic Development and Construction Act 2009 (Commencement No. 2) (Scotland) Order 2011 (SI 2011/291) has confirmed the effective date for the changes to Part II of the Housing Grants, Construction and Regeneration Act 1996 (Construction Act 1996) under Part 8 of the Local Democracy, Economic Development and Construction Act 2009 (LDEDC Act 2009) in Scotland. Notably, the changes will come into force in Scotland a month after they take effect in England (see Legal update, Construction Act 1996 amendments in force 1 October 2011).
