Expert witnesses' immunity from suit abolished (Supreme Court): full update

In Jones v Kaney [2011] UKSC 13, the Supreme Court held (by a majority of five to two) that the immunity from suit for breach of duty (whether in contract or negligence) that expert witnesses have enjoyed in their participation in legal proceedings should be abolished.
