The Master of the Rolls, Lord Dyson, has appointed five judges (including himself) to hear appeals to the Court of Appeal arising out of the Jackson/civil litigation reforms. The four other judges are Richards LJ (Deputy Head of Civil Justice), Jackson LJ, Davis LJ and Lewison LJ.
At least one of the appointed judges will be on the bench for all appeals relating to the reforms.
Jackson LJ's final report made a recommendation for the Master of the Rolls to designate Lord Justices to consider issues on the interpretation or application of the CPR arising from the reforms. Although two appointments were recommended, five Lord Justices have now been appointed to provide more flexibility for listing.
