Schedules of amendments incorporate BIM provisions

We have updated our schedules of amendments to the JCT Design and Build Contract (DB11), Standard Building Contract (SBC11) and Intermediate Building Contract (with and without design versions) (ICD11 and IC11) to include integrated building information modelling (BIM) provisions, meaning that users avoid many of the difficulties associated with incorporating a separate BIM protocol. (Free access.)
We have updated our resources by allowing parties to integrate BIM provisions into the terms and conditions of their JCT building contract. The new optional provisions can simplify a contract, because the parties do not need to incorporate a BIM protocol with its own terms and conditions, or include a bespoke priority of documents clause. The latest changes affect Standard documents:
The integrated drafting notes within each standard document explain how to use the new optional clauses and any negotiating points. As with other Practical Law standard documents, they are available to download in Word.
These enhancements are consistent with our recent BIM alterations to Standard documents, Professional consultant's letter of appointment and Professional appointment.
