As we have previously reported, the Welsh Assembly Government (WAG) has been taking the necessary steps to bring the changes to Part II of the Housing Grants, Construction and Regeneration Act 1996 (Construction Act 1996) introduced by Part 8 of the Local Democracy, Economic Development and Construction Act 2009 (LDEDC Act 2009) into effect.
The Local Democracy, Economic Development and Construction Act 2009 (Commencement No. 2) (Wales) Order 2011 (SI 2011/1597) has now been published, which formally puts the 1 October 2011 effective date for the changes onto the Welsh statute book.
