Sub-contractor claims against householders for insurance repairs

In AJ Building and Plastering Ltd v Turner and others [2013] EWHC 484 (QB) HHJ Keyser QC in the Cardiff District Registry of the Mercantile Court rejected three test cases where a sub-contractor that carried out insurance repairs claimed payment direct from the householders after the contractor went insolvent.
Note: The Cancellation of Contracts made in a Consumer's Home or Place of Work etc. Regulations 2008 (SI 2008/1816) were replaced by the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 (SI 2013/3134) for contracts entered into on or after 13 June 2014.
